LET IT BE was the first Replacements album to come to national attention. According to Twin/Tone, the following numbers were produced as of August 1997: 26,000 vinyl copies, 51,000 cassettes, and more than 150,000 CDs. The final pressing in the late 1980s included 1,000 copies of colored vinyl.
